SEARCY, William Ralph Bill, passed away March 6, 2013 at his home in Nashville, TN. He was 87 years old. Born in Georgia on September 17, 1925, Bill served in the army railroad division during WW II, traveling throughout Europe and remained a lifelong train enthusiast. A dedicated organic gardener, Bill also enjoyed a good game of golf and a bourbon with water on-the-rocks. He was a gracious host who loved a good story and he and his late wife, Alice, enjoyed socializing with their many friends. He wholeheartedly supported causes and organizations devoted to the protection of nature and wildlife and instilled his love of nature in subsequent generations of his family. Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Alice, daughter Lea, grandson Marc and sister, Sara Jo. He is survived by his devoted children, Bill Jr. Sharon, Kim John, Ben and Janet Joseph; grandchildren, Jennifer Jamie, Jessica Daniel, Megan and Bryan; and great grandchildren, Lily, Payne and Mason;nieces and nephews, Don Mary and Terry Julie, Allen Vicky, Theresa Bill, Renee, Fred Faye; beloved sisters-in-law, June and Virginia as well as grand nieces/nephews and cousins. A source of strength, he will be remembered for his steadfast devotion, support, wisdom and humor by his family and friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2013 from 1-3pm at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home with a gathering of family and friends to follow from 3-5pm at the Harpeth Hills Pavilion. Interment will be held on Monday, March 11, 2013 at 12pm at HARPETH HILLS MEMORY GARDENS AND FUNERAL HOME 9090 Hwy. 100 Nashville, TN 615-646-9292
