Wanda Louise Jackson, age 72, of Gallatin, passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2016. Wanda was born on January 29, 1944 in Rockwood, TN. She graduated from Oak Ridge High School and retired from Oak Ridge University Laboratory, where she worked as a secretary. Wanda was a member of First Baptist Church in Gallatin. As a young girl, Wanda and her mother attended ballet dance classes, where she would memorize dance steps and then practice them at home with her mother. She was a diehard UT fan, dressed in her favorite UT gear, and never missing a game on Saturday. Wanda loved country music and her favorites were Alan Jackson, Vince Gill and Elvis Presley. Wanda loved her family and will be dearly missed by all those that knew her.
Wanda is preceded in death by her parents, Gascal and Mildred (Crownover) Jackson, along with several aunts, uncles & other beloved family members. Survived by her uncles; Robert Crownover, David Crownover, Kelly Crownover, Samuel Crownover and Roy Crownover, along with many extended family members. Wanda will be dearly missed by her longtime best friend, Rachel Farris and her husband Hank, for all the love, care and support she provided Wanda and her family over the years.
A Life Celebration will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at Crestview Funeral Home with burial to follow at Crestview Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM at Crestview Funeral Home, 1623 Hwy. 109 North, Gallatin, TN, 37066, 615-452-1943.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Wanda's name can be made to any charity of choice.
