JOHNSON, Wallace Edwin Ed - Age 86, passed away on June 4, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Johnson and siblings, Martha Frazer, Tabbie George, Jean Hannah and Bill Johnson. He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Frances Gamble Johnson; daughter, Paulette George Coleman; grandson, Christopher Brittany Coleman; granddaughter, Ashley Matthew Coleman Wilson, and brothers, Charles Johnson, James Johnson, Waldie Johnson and Richard Johnson. Mr. Johnson served in the US Navy and retired from Stauffer Chemical in 1992 after 38 years of service. He served as a deacon at River Road Church of Christ for 40 years. Ed was a longtime member of the River Road and Bellevue Community in West Nashville. He was a loving, kind and devoted husband, father and grandfather. A Life Celebration service will be held on Friday, June 7, 2013 at 1 pm in the Harpeth Hills Chapel, with Josh Barnett and Mike Baker officiating. A special Celebration of Life will be commemorated by Christopher Coleman and Matthew Wilson. Congregational singing will be led by Steve Hawkins. Interment will follow in Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens with Christopher Coleman, George Coleman, Jody George, Josh Longmire, Chris McBride, Billy Moss, Bobby Sexton and Matthew Wilson serving as Active Pallbearers. James Earley and the Men of the River Road Church of Christ will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Visitation will begin on Thursday, June 6, 2013 from 4pm to 8pm, and will continue on Friday from 11am until the service hour at 1pm at HARPETH HILLS FUNERAL HOME 9090 Hwy. 100 Nashville, TN 615-646-9292 www.afamilylegacy.com
