Velma Thompson Downs, age 81 of Gallatin, passed away September 1, 2019. Mrs. Downs was born on April 28, 1938 in Bethpage, Tennessee to the late Charlie Thompson and Mandy Lillian Williams Thompson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Frances Roberts; and brothers, Robert and Benjamin Thompson. She is survived by special niece, Benita Ladd; sisters, Irene Carmon and Betty Thompson; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, September 4th at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Crestview Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Peace officiating. Interment will follow in Crestview Memory Gardens. Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday from 4-8 P.M. and Wednesday from 12 P.M. until time of service.
