Steve Franklin Markham, age 78, of Gallatin passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on November 4, 2022. He was born on March 21, 1944 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late George and Annie Markham. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his son,
Steven Markham II. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Virginia Markham; daughter, Belinda Durrett (Sammy); granddaughters, Samantha Dorris (Todd) and Haley Durrett; great granddaughter, Emma Kayte Dorris; and brother, James Markham.
He served in the United States Air Force as air police during the Vietnam War. He worked at AT&T for over 30 years, where he also served as Union President. He later worked as a USPS mail carrier for the Westmoreland post office for 12 years before retiring. Steve loved his family most of all. In his free time, he enjoyed old classic cars, woodworking, gardening, and traveling in his motor home with his wife.
Steve will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers during this time of grief.
Visitation will take place Tuesday, November 8 from 10AM-12PM at Crestview Funeral Home in Gallatin with funeral services at 12PM and the graveside service to follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Franklin, Kentucky
