Stefan Lapuste

Stefan Lapuste was born on January 31, 1955 in Gelu, Satu-Mare to parents, Ana and Vasile Lapuste. He was the sixth in a family of 10. He went to be with the Lord on December 31, 2024, surrounded by family.

Stefan is preceded in death by his parents, Vasile and Ana, his first wife Maria and his second wife Valentina, and his siblings Vasile, Florica, Nelu and Peter. He is survived by his children Emanuel, Benjamin, Stefan, Dan, Angela, John, and their families. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Jasmine, Blaze, Justice, Lucian, Gavin, Samuel, Evelyn, Ruben, Joshua, Noah, Nathan, Miriam, Lawson, June, Luci and David. As well as his brothers and sisters. Ileana, Aurel, Zack, Vicky and Maria. Although he is gone, his memory will remain with all of us.

Stefan left communist Romania in 1986 and after a lot of hard work he was able to bring his wife and children to the states in 1988.

Stefan was more than a provider. He was a source of joy, warmth, and strength. He was a man of strong Christian faith, regularly attending services until he was no longer able. His heart’s desire was God’s will first above everything else then family, friends, and others. He had volunteered a lot of his time, building churches and bringing people together, including laying the foundation of Bethel Romanian Church of God, here in Gallatin, and Romanian Pentecostal Church in Oroville California. He reached out to orphans and helped widows. Those who knew him would enjoy his strong and cheerful character. His children fondly recall, going to the snow with him, picking oranges, playing chess with the grandchildren, building the house in Oroville, singing, and having prayer before bedtime, and so many more memories will be treasured in our hearts.

As we gather to honor his memory, we will cherish the time God allowed him to live among us.
