OWENS, Stacy Lynn Alvey-In the early morning of Tuesday, May 29, 2013, Stacy Lynn Alvey Owens died at St Thomas Hospital, Nashville, TN, aged 57. As a youth in Owensboro, KY, Stacy excelled in swimming, diving and instrumental music. Anecdotal evidence suggests she was a master "Jacks" player and marathon basement roller skater. She grew to be Drum major of her Owensboro High School Marching Band. After her graduation from Western KY University, she spent her professional career in library services at WKU, The University of Tennessee at Knoxville and Vanderbilt University. By all accounts she was "good company." Though humble, she was a spirited woman and always productive. Using her skills as a musician, flower designer, seamstress, minor miracle worker and champion shopper, she brightened her corner of the world with a stream of little acts of kindness. She was seldom loquacious, but a word or phrase from her has been known to turn a life around. Along with friends and colleagues, this beautiful soul is survived and greatly missed by her husband of almost 33 years, CC Owens, father JC Alvey, Jr., stepmother LaQuita Yeiser Alvey, sister Candace Alvey, two nephews; Ross and Josiah Murphy and grand-nephew, Liam Murphy. Stacy lived on earth determined to glorify and enjoy her loving Creator. She is now no doubt joyfully adoring her Redeemer, freed from sin and eternally grateful for Jesus' blood and righteousness. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 4 at Covenant Presbyterian Church, Nashville, TN at 1:30 pm with visitation from 12 - 1:15 pm at the church, 33 Burton Hills Blvd.Memorial gifts may be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church, Nashville, TN.
