Scottie King Sr., age 66 of Gallatin, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2009. Mr. King served his country for over 20 years in the United States Army, with multiple tours to Vietnam. He was preceded in death by his parents, Auz and Marie King and a half-sister, Nina Henson. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis King; son, Scottie King Jr. Allison; daughter, Sheila Parks Chris; grandchildren, Jessica King, Jacob King, Juli King, Jaina King, Justin King, Brooke Parks, Ryan Parks, and John Parks all of Gallatin; half-brothers, Aus King Jr. of Mars Hill, NC, Starling Willis King of Afton, TN; half-sisters, Belva King of Chuckey, TN, Gloria Hawthorne of Falls Branch, TN, and Patricia Kelton of Greeneville, TN. Funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Gallatin Funeral Home with Rev. Kyle Poole officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow in the Sumner Memorial Gardens. Members of the Gallatin Police Department will serve as active pallbearers. Visitation will begin on Wednesday, October 21 at 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and will resume on Thursday at 12 Noon until service time.
