Roy E. Washburn

Roy Washburn, age 74, of Cottontown, Tennessee, entered into rest on Friday, July 26, 2024.

He was born on February 22, 1950, to his parents Felix and Florence Washburn, in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. Roy was married to the love of his life, Joyce, on July 18, 1980. They had 3 children together; their legacy continued with several grandchildren who they cherished.

Roy was a hard worker, who provided for his family. He worked for over 20 years at both, the Oscar Mayer meat packaging plant and USA Steel. In his personal time, Roy was a very talented woodworker. He also enjoyed watching the history channel and spending time with his grandchildren.

He will be dearly missed.

Roy Edgar Washburn is survived by his children, Dawn Gannon (Willard), William Washburn (Amanda), and Frances Washburn (Robert); grandchildren, Thomas Gannon, Candie Gannon, Morgan Washburn, Brooklyn Bradley, London Washburn, Shane Gannon, Remmington Washburn, Lawton Washburn; great granddaughter, Mae Annette Rivers; brothers, Doug Washburn, John Washburn (Debbie); and sister, Sarah Hurst (Danny).

He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Joyce Annette (Anderson) Washburn; father, Felix Edgar Washburn; mother, Florence Elizabeth (Hovelmeier) Washburn; and sister, Jane E. Washburn.

Visitation will be held at Crestview Funeral Home, on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, from 3:00 P.M., until 7:00 P.M., and again on Wednesday, July 31, from 8:00 A.M., until 10:00 A.M..

The funeral service in honor of Roy Washburn will be conducted from the chapel of Crestview Funeral Home, at 10:00 A.M., on Wednesday, July 31, 2024. Dave Cates will be officiating.

Burial in Crestview Memory Gardens will immediately follow services. Those serving as pall bearers will be, Willard Gannon, Thomas Gannon, Josh Anderson, Dave Cates, Richard Sharier, and Stanton Rivers.
