Robert Stockdale, age 72 of Gallatin, passed away March 5, 2019. Mr. Stockdale was born in Humbold, TN on July 21, 1946 to the late Kelly Stockdale and the late Frances Marise Crumley. Robert was an avid sports fan, especially of the Tennessee Vols and St. Louis Cardinals. He enjoyed bowling, walking, yard work, and watching westerns. He was the most considerate, honest, loving, hard-working family man there was; he was the best dad and grandpa to his children and grandchildren that a family could have; he was patient and a good role model, but most importantly, he was his wife's "baby." In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bobby Marise and Jerry Stockdale. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Bonnie Stockdale; children, Keith Stockdale (Emily) and Kellie Johnson (Doug); grandchildren, Preston Stockdale, Caleb Stockdale, and Kirsten Johnson; brother, James Marise (Susan); and sister, Ruth Brown. A Life Celebration Service honoring Robert will be held on Monday, March 11th at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Crestview Funeral Home with Eldon Spivey officiating. Interment will follow in Crestview Memory Gardens. Visitation with the family will be on Sunday, March 10th from 3-7 P.M. and Monday from 12 P.M. until service time.
