Rev. Ernest Dean Johnson
Rev. Ernest Dean Johnson, age 85 of Gallatin, passed away on Monday, November 10 at Sumner Regional Medical Center. A native of Sumner County, he was born to the late James and Nola Bolin Johnson. Rev. Johnson served his country proudly during World War II with the United States Army. He later became a business agent for the Operating Engineers Union and was a longtime Minister for numerous churches in this area. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Robert Johnson, and J.D. Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Dora Johnson of Gallatin, daughter, Martha Faye Adams of Gallatin, grandsons; Richard Dean Adams Tricia of Gallatin, Shaun Lee Adams Renee Mumford-Adams of Hendersonville, great-grandchildren; Mercedes Adams, Richard Dean Adams II, Jeffrey Adams, Shauna Adams, Cheyenne Adams, brother, William Johnson of Clermont, Florida, sister, Myrtle B. Smith of Franklin, Kentucky, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, November 12 at 1:00 P.M. from the Lambuth Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Gene Martino and Bro. Forrest Creekmore officiating. Interment will follow in the Crestview Memorial Park with Military Honors. Visitation will begin on Tuesday at 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at the Gallatin Funeral Home and will resume on Wednesday at 12 Noon until service time at the Lambuth Memorial United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Parkinson's Disease Association, 1250 Hyland Blvd. Suite 4B, Staten Island, New York 10305.
