Ms. Phyllis Chandler Hovenden, 70, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2020 surrounded by loved ones.
Phyllis was born in Nashville, TN to Bonnie Minton Chandler and the late Wesley Trenton Chandler. She is also preceded in death by her sister Cheryl Chandler Terry, nephew, Trent Jordan Bradford and brother in law, Joseph Henry Bradford.
Phyllis was an adventurous soul whose creativity was limitless. She deeply loved and supported her son, Jonathan, her mother and her sisters along with her nieces and nephews. When she wasn't creating wondrous works of art for brides or for other's homes during the holidays, she was supporting all of her great nieces and nephews in their various sports or activities. Phyllis was truly an intimate scholar of the bible. She was the epitome of the verse, "treat others as you wish to be treated." She never met a stranger nor would she ever let any animal go hungry.
She is survived by her son, Jonathan Edwin Hovenden, her mother, Bonnie Minton Chandler, her sisters, Linda Chandler Bradford and Debbie C. (Ted) Bransford.
Visitation will be held, Friday, October 23rd at Crestview Memorial Funeral Home 4:00- 8:00 pm. A private, family graveside service will be held the following day.
