Nancy O'Connell

Nancy Lee McCarroll O'Connell, 76, died May 20, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family.

She leaves her husband of 52 years, Terence and daughters: Sheila (Mark Yanno) of Vero Beach, FL and Shannon (Matthew DeYoung) of Gallatin, TN. She is also survived by her grandson, Fintan "Finn" DeYoung of Gallatin, TN, as well as, two sisters (Dr. Connie McCarroll, Bonnie (Ed) Geiger), four brothers (Mike McCarroll, Larry (Frankie) McCarroll, Jim (Anna) McCarroll, Bob McCarroll), sister-in-law Sandy O'Connell (Chuck) Riffe and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents (Lawrence Strother McCarroll Jr & Thelma Rose Wysong McCarroll) and one brother (Lawrence Strother McCarroll III).

She was born in her grandparents' farmhouse in New Lebanon, OH on April 11, 1942 while her father was stationed in Panama during his Air Force service. Nancy spent her first years on the farm, followed by Virginia, Iowa and once married, Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee.

In 1961, Nancy went to work for Lake Central Airlines spending several years with the company as a stewardess, followed by stewardess training and switch board operating. Once starting a family, she refashioned herself from an airline career to a full-time mom. During their early retirement years, she and Terry traveled the country in their motorhome with friends and family.

In lieu of a funeral service, a memorial celebration will be held at a later date.
