Montra Denning

Montra Elizabeth Denning, age 90, went to be with the Lord on December 31, 2022.

Liz was born on October 22, 1932, to the late Alvie and Alberta Fleming in Westmorland, TN.   She had a peaceful transition on New Year’s Eve, 2022.  She is now celebrating in heaven.

Liz was totally committed to serving Jesus Christ her entire life.  She was saved at an early age.  And of that day she said, “I felt so clean.”  She did not even want to wash her hands before dinner that day because she felt so clean already.  She felt washing her hands would just make her feel dirty.

Her kindness and generosity, especially toward those less fortunate, was remarkable.  She truly had the gift of giving.  And when she had given all she could, she so often said, “I wish I could have done more.”  She had such a loving and compassionate heart.

She never said “goodbye” without saying “I love you.”

Liz worked at the Baptist Sunday School Board as a computer operator for a number of years before retiring in 1992.

Preceded in death by her sister, Bonnie Williams, her three brothers, Vernon, Charles, and Larry Fleming, her first husband, Noel Pack, and her second husband, Gordon Denning.

Survived by three sisters, Lea Meadors, Paulette Cothron, and Virginia Markham, as well as her two children, Vickie Pack Claxton (John) and Richard Noel Pack (Phyllis), five grandchildren, Danny, Rob, Sam, Amy, and Ben, and 12 great children.

We wish to extend a special thanks to her neighbors, Steve Taylor and Tirri Parker for their love and faithful support in so many ways.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, January 7, 2023, from 12 PM – 1 PM at Crestview Funeral Home in Gallatin, TN, with a memorial service to follow at 1 PM.  A brief graveside service will follow at Fairfield Cemetery in Westmorland, TN.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers you may donate to the American Bible Society, one of the ministries Liz loved and supported.
