Lucy Martin

MARTIN, Lucy Velma - Age 83 of Hendersonville, formerly of Chattanooga went to be with the Lord on January 14, 2012. Velma was a strong willed woman who loved to laugh. She was a faith based woman who was a former member of City Church in Chattanooga. She enjoyed cooking; sewing, crafting, traveling and most of all spending time with her children. Preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Alice Carden; husband, Roy S. Martin, Sr.; children, James Allen Martin and Mary Lynne Martin. Survived by her children, Margie Renner Anthony, Roy S. Martin Carol and Billy J. Martin Fiancée, Laurel Taylor; grandchildren, Teresa Carroll Scott and Beth Martin Ryan Snook; great-grandchildren, James David Carroll and Maggie Faye Carroll; many extended family members and friends. A Life Celebration will be held 2pm Wednesday at Hendersonville Funeral Home. Burial will be 2pm Thursday at Lakewood Memory Gardens in Chattanooga. Visitation will be 3pm – 8pm Tuesday at Hendersonville Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
