Lora Raymer, a cherished member of the Hendersonville community and devoted Administrator for First Baptist Church Hendersonville, passed away on October 2, 2024, at the age of 62. Born on December 14, 1961, in Flint, Michigan, Lora's life was marked by her unwavering dedication to serving others and her warm-hearted spirit.
Lora's career at the First Baptist Church was not just a job; it was a profound source of pride for her. She touched countless lives through her work, always demonstrating a selfless desire to help those around her. Her passion for community service was paralleled only by her love for family, particularly her nieces and nephews, who held a special place in her heart. Lora often found joy in the little things, whether it was creating beautiful cakes, spending time with loved ones, or crocheting treasures to share with those she cared for.
She is survived by her sister, Debbie (Jim) Schimbke, and brother, Jayson (Tabatha) Berry, and sister-in-law, Jean Berry. Lora's legacy will live on in the hearts of her many nieces and nephews: Jeff Lowe, Mike Lowe, Krissy Jaynes, Ryan Berry, Jayme Berry, Elizabeth Smith, Kayla Williams, Becky Moreen, Andrew Turner, Katherine York, Haley Ford, Joseph Berry, Abigail Berry, and Isabella Berry.
Lora is preceded in death by her parents, RJ and Alma Berry, her husband Terry Raymer, and her brother Randy Berry.
Visitation services will be held at Crestview Memory Gardens, Funeral Home & Cremation in Gallatin, Tennessee, on October 8, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and again on October 9, 2024, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. A funeral service will follow on that same day at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at Mayes Cemetery in Ridgetop, Tennessee, at 2:00 PM.
Lora Raymer will be remembered not only for her contributions to her community but also for the love and kindness she shared so freely with all those fortunate enough to know her. Her spirit and compassion will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be sent to First Baptist Church Hendersonville Backpack Ministry in memory of Lora Raymer.
