Age 81, Lois affectionately known as "Nanny" lived in Florida with her husband Jeff before moving to Hendersonville. She lived there for 35 years before moving to Destin, FL. in 2003 to be near her family as it migrated from Tennessee to Florida. She has lived happily in the Bay Side Community where she has been surrounded by a most generous group of friends and neighbors. She thrived on her friendships both in Hendersonville and Destin, enjoying life to the fullest, always ready to try new activities and to expand her circle of friends. She has always valued her relationship and interaction with her family as a most important part of her life. She died on Oct. 6, 2006 with her family at her side. She leaves behind a son, Chip Jervis and his wife; daughter, Susanne Ward and her husband; as well as three grandchildren, all of whom adored and respected her. In the last days of her life, as she fought a rapidly progressing cancer, she and her family were most grateful for the excellent care she received from the entire staff and her physicians at Sacred Heart Hospital. She will be sorely missed, but never forgotten. Her family will receive friends from 7:00pm unitl 9:00pm on Thursday, Oct. 12, at Hendersonville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00am on Friday, Oct. 13, from the Chapel of Hendersonville Funeral Home with Dr. Glenn Weekly officiating. Interment will be in Hendersonville Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family request that Memoiral Donations be made to the Sacred Heart on the Emerald Coast.
