EVANS, Leslie Boyd passed away on June 19, 2009 after a long illness. He was born on 12-26-1937 in Nashville, TN to John Frances and Rubie Mae Evans. Graduated from Cohn High School in Nashville. Served in the US Marines. He was a founding member of the Grassland Heights Baptist Church in Franklin where he served as Chairman of the Deacons and Sunday School Director. He retired from Kuhn's Big K stores and the State of Tennessee. He was also a Gideon. As a man of strong faith and solid Christian values, he was always very active in his church. He was an avid sports fan and loved music.
He is survived by Wife, Charlotte Beumel Evans of Nashville; children, Larry Elaine Evans of Clarksville, TN, Mark Debbie Evans of Hendersonville, TN, Steve Pat Evans of Franklin, TN, Becky Paul Welborn of Keystone Heights, FL, Lee Kim Evans of Topeka KS; 14 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson; Brothers, Troy Evans and Roger Evans, both of Nashville. Visitation will be at Bellevue Baptist Church in Nashville Tuesday June 23, 2009 from 5-8 p.m. and on Wednesday June 24, 2009 from noon until 2 p.m. with services to follow. The family asks that in lieu of flowers please make donations to the Parkinson's Research at Vanderbilt University.
