Lena Jackson

Lena Allie Higdon Cox Stokes Jackson, age 96, of Hendersonville, peacefully departed this life on Monday, March 23, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wm. F. Cox, Sr.; sons, Wm. F. Cox, Jr. and Carl E. Cox; husbands, Paul Stokes and Theo Jackson. She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Carl Butterworth; son, Robert Lois Cox; daughter-in-law, Margaret Cox; sister-in-law, Delcie Cartwright Bandy; brother-in-law, Fred Cartwright; 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 16 great, great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and special friends, Josephine Reeder and Irene Ross; dedicated and loving staff at NHC-Hendersonville, and church family at Miracle Temple Pentecostal Church of God in Edenwold, TN. She was a charter member of the church and had attended services in Edenwold since childhood. She was loved and cherished by family and friends and will be sadly missed. Her special smile and loving heart was a gift to everyone that was privileged to meet her. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M., Thursday, March 26, 2009 from the Miracle Temple Pentecostal Church of God with Pastor Scott Long and Rev. Robert Cox officiating. Interment will follow in the Oakdale Cemetery in Lafayette, TN. Visitation will be 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at Hendersonville Funeral Home and from 12 PM until the time of service on Thursday at the church. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
