Kenneth Wade Richardson Sr.
Kenneth Wade Richardson Sr., age 65 of Gallatin, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2008 at Sumner Regional Medical Center. Mr. Richardson drove a million plus miles for numerous country music artists, helped start the Christmas Caravan for Kids, and was an active member of the American Legion Post #17 of Gallatin. He was born to the late Walter and Annie Richardson. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Leo Ladd, sisters; Carolyn Sadler, and Jean Farmer. He is survived by his wife Opal Richardson, sons; Jacky Ray Richardson, Kenneth Wade Richardson Jr., daughter, Becky Cherry Jim, grandsons; Ryan Cherry, Dalton Cherry, brother; Walter "Sonny" Richardson and special sister-in-law Nancy, sisters; Mary Ann Hollis and special brother-in-law Odell, Linda Matthews and special brother-in-law Marshall, half-sister, Jeanene Council Bill, and two very special friends; Horace Lauper, Billy Allen. Funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, November 18 at 11:00 A.M. from the chapel of Gallatin Funeral Home with Pastor Rich Cook officiating. Interment will follow in the Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Portland Church of Nazarene. Terry Sadler, Tony Hollis, Roger Hollis, Tim Richardson, Trever Nicholson, Scott Cherry, Mike Cherry, and Horace Lauper will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will begin on Sunday, November 16 at 12 Noon – 8:00 P.M., Monday at 8:00 A.M. – 8:00 P.M., and Tuesday at 8:00 A.M. until service time. The family would like to thank the medical staff of Sumner Regional, Dr. Subir Guha and his staff, the Portland Church of Nazarene where Mr. Richardson was a member, Pastor Rich Cook, The Cherry, Walker, and Givens families.
