Kay Lauper

It is with great sadness to announce that Mrs. Brenda "Kay" Lauper, age 75, of Gallatin, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2024. She was born in Gallatin, TN, on April 22, 1949, to the late Douglas and Iris Woodard. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, William Horace Lauper and her three brothers, John, Jerry, and Frank Woodard.

Mrs. Brenda Kay Lauper is survived by her daughters, Leslie Goodrum (Wayne) and Melissa Hunt; four granddaughters, Rylee Madeline and Lyla Noelle Hunt, Kendell, and Jordan Goodrum.

Though she loved spending time with her family, Kay’s favorite role was that as of being a “Nana”. She treasured her time with her grandchildren, never failing to love on them as much as possible.

Kay was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Gallatin and loved devoting her time with the Homebound Ministry.

A special thanks to Gentiva Hospice and their staff that cared for our mom, and Donna Kirkwood, who also helped take care of mom 2.5 years before entering the Assisted Living Community at Carriage Crossing. We are forever grateful for your patience and love shown while caring for our mom.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at 3:00 P.M., with burial to follow in Crestview Memory Gardens.
