Joseph Meadows

MEADOWS, Joseph E. – Born on June 14, 1924, passed away on October 23, 2011, at the age of 87. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Lena Barksdale Meadows; wife, Christine and their son, David Meadows; wife, Fannie Meadows, and step son Earl Young. Survived by stepchildren, Connie Tony Plavich, William Debbie Young and Barbara Leon Boucher. Joe also leaves behind many friends, that became just like family to all of us. The Life Celebration service will be on Tuesday, October 25, 2011, at 12noon, from the West Harpeth Funeral Home with Brother Josh Barnett, and friend in Christ, Bill York, officiating. Interment to follow in Athens City Cemetery, at 3pm, in Athens, AL. Pallbearers will be: James Brazzell, Scott Gorski, Milton Sauls, Dennis Sauls, Pat Cannady, and Ron Erland.In lieu of flowers, memorials are encouraged to the Alive Hospice, 1710 Patterson Street, Nashville, TN 37203. Special thanks to all the staff and caregivers at Mary Queen of Angels, especially Shakila Holbert, Mary Ann Dunlap, and Linda Franklin. Visitation will be on Monday from 3-7pm, and on Tuesday from 11am until the service hour at the WEST HARPETH FUNERAL HOME, 6962 Charlotte Pike.
