Mike Cude

January 28, 1957 — February 14, 2024

Jon Michael Cude was born on January 28, 1957.  He passed away on February 14, 2024.  Mike is preceded in death by his parents, William J. Cude, Jr and Margery Dorris Cude.   Mike is survived by his brother, William J. Cude, III (Connie M.), two sons, Dustin Ryan Cude (April), and Seth Michael Cude (Tanya), two grandsons Silas and Griffin Cude, nephew Nathan Cude, niece Julia Gala Cude, and partner Amy Lynn Rademaker.  Mike was born in Nashville, Tennessee and attended grades 1-12 in Hendersonville, Tennessee.  He graduated Hendersonville High School in 1975 and attended college at Western Kentucky University where he graduated in 1979 with a degree in mechanical engineering.  Mike joined the family medical business out of college and excelled at plant operations and product design and development.  Through a series of medical device ventures, Mike always played a pivotal role developing new products and cost-effective manufacturing processes that supported the substantial growth of the businesses.  Mike holds 19 patents.  He was inducted into the Plastics Hall of Fame in 2024. Mike loved all things mechanical and especially enjoyed rebuilding and racing Jeeps.  He also found time to maintain the tractors and other equipment on “the Farm”.  In his “spare time” he loved to design and build homes including his long-time Tennessee residence, a replica of an 1830’s antebellum home. Mike traveled extensively for his work visiting many customers and suppliers both in the U.S. and abroad.   His travel for business evolved into a love of travel as a hobby.  He never tired of seeing new places and meeting new people.  Mike was happiest when he was spending time with others.  He loved a good meal, a fine wine, and a good full-bodied Port with family and friends.  Regardless of the nationality or the language, Mike never met a stranger.
