ELLIOTT, Johnnie Anderson, Age 91 of Hendersonville passed away May 13, 2013. She was born in Rockwood, TN to the late Mrs. Mattie Candace Spurlock Anderson & Alton McFerran Anderson. Mrs. Elliott was a graduate of Rockwood High School. She later attended Harding College in Searcy, AR. She was veteran of the U. S. Navy where, she served in WWII. She retired from the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture, Crop Insurance Division. She is a member of Riverside Church of Christ. Preceded in death by her husband, Verner Elliott; 2 brothers & 2 sisters. Survived by her devoted niece and caregiver, Martha Anderson Wallace Frank, nephew, Jack Porter; nieces, Candace Porter, Linda Hamrick, Elizabeth Crowe & Nancy Robertson; one great-niece; step-daughter, Kay Martineau; 2 step-granddaughters & 1 step-grandson. There will be no funeral service at Mrs. Elliott's request. A visitation will be held Thursday from 11am – 3pm at Hendersonville Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest beside her husband, a WWII Army Veteran, at Nashville National Cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Madlyn Butler, RN and the caregivers at Park Place Assisted Living, where she resided the past four years. In lieu of floral offerings, memorial gifts may be made to the church or charity of one's choice.
