John began his career as a respiratory therapist with a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others. Throughout his years in the field, he touched countless lives through his dedication and commitment to delivering exceptional care.
However, it was not only in his career that John demonstrated boundless devotion. He served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. John's unwavering courage and commitment earned him numerous medals of honor for his valorous actions during his time in service. Following Kathy's passing, John found love again with Gail Nabors-Griffith. Their union brought joy and companionship into their lives as they supported each other through thick and thin. They shared countless treasured memories together.

His brother-in-law Winfield "Jack" Cooper and sister, Bobbie Elliff, held a special place in his heart, and their bond was a source of mutual support and laughter. Greg Johnson and Debbie Sloan were also close friends, who stood by John's side through life's challenges. Josh, Julie Soppe, Brian, and Betsy Skelly were among the many friends who formed an integral part of John's life, turning moments into cherished memories.
