Jean Ann Miner, 76, died with her family at her side at Lakeshore Meadows in Nashville Tennessee on January 8, 2010. Jean was born January 18, 1933 in Chicago, Il. She is a graduate of South Shore High School and the University of Wisconsin Madison with a degree in Home Economics. She taught high school home economics for three years before she married and headed to Indianapolis, Indiana to pursue an internship as a dietician. She returned to Wisconsin to settle in La Crosse with her family in 1965. Jean worked at Hillview Nursing Home and St. Francis Hospital. She was a committed volunteer with the Lutheran Hospital Auxiliary both in the hospital and on the stage in fundraising performances. Jean was often leading a Girl Scout Troop or teaching Sunday School at Asbury United Methodist Church as she raised her three daughters. She moved to Nashville ten years ago to be close to her youngest daughter, Amie and her grandchildren. Jean delighted in the simple pleasures of cats, games, stories, and the generosity of others.
Jean is survived by her brother Ray David Quisenberry, her sister, Alice McKillop, her three daughters Jennifer Asselstine, Pamela Miner and Amie Bates and her grandchildren, Brett, Claire, James and McCall.
A memorial service will be held January 10th at St. John's Methodist Church in Nashville and on Monday January 18th Jean will be buried in Oak Woods Cemetery in Chicago next to her beloved father, Ray Quisenberry.
