CHERRY, Jane Yarbrough, known endearingly to many as LadyJane and Nana went home to her Lord on Tuesday, October 5, after a brief illness. Jane was born in Cairo, Illinois, January 29, 1920.
Jane knew well the love of Christ for her, and she loved Him back very much. Her favorite declaration was, "God has done for me what I could not do for myself." She loved to laugh, dance, and tell funny stories, and was well loved by her entire family.
Jane is survived by her two children, Patsi Braswell and Wink Cherry; grandchildren Bo Allison Braswell, Cherry Sergio Reyes, Blair Braswell, Jay Diana Cherry, Elliott Britta Cherry, and Luke Cherry; along with 9 great grandchildren, her brother Tommy Yarbrough, sister Betty Woodward; 2 nephews and a niece Tom, Kathy, Mickey and her most special group of AA friends that have been her family for the past 11 years.
Visitation is today, October 7, at noon, at Bellemeade Methodist. A Celebration of her life will be held at 1, also at Bellemeade Methodist. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to one of Nana's favorite charities, Lespwa Worldwide, a ministry bringing hope to Haiti, in which one of her grandchildren founded.
