WOLFE, James H., 88, April 8, 2011-survived by wife, Martha Shelton Wolfe. A native of Chattanooga, Tennessee, he was educated in public schools of Chattanooga and The University of Chattanooga. He was a veteran of World War II and volunteered for the U.S. Naval Air Corps. He served aboard the aircraft carrier, U.S.S. Essex in the pacific theatre of operations. He was a retired employee of South Central Bell Telephone Company. He was serving as manager for corporate and community affairs at his retirement in 1985, following over 40 years of service in various positions. Well-known in public relations circles, he was an accredited public relations practitioner and an active member of The Public Relations Society of America. Throughout his career he was active in community affairs, serving on many boards and civic committees: Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce; American Red Cross; Senior Citizens, Inc.; Middle Tennessee Council on Alcohol and Drugs; Nashville Civitan Club; and a member of others.
