James A. Williams, age 78 of Gallatin passed away on Monday, December 8 at Sumner Regional Medical Center. A native of Sumner County, he was born to the late Aubrey and Lena Williams. Mr. Williams served his country proudly in the U.S. Army. He was a dedicated husband, father, father-in-law, and loving grandfather. He also was a faithful member of the Hartsville Pike Church of Christ. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Nora Gregory, brothers; Jarvis Williams, and Johnny Williams. He is survived by his wife, Geneva Williams of Gallatin, son, Thomas James Williams Michelle of Gallatin, daughter, Connie June Bryan Clint of Bethpage, grandchildren; Courtney Amber Bryan, and Caleb James Bryan, brothers; Jack Williams Lou of Red Boiling Springs, Joe Williams Mae of Gallatin, Jerry Williams of Bethpage, Ricky Williams of Bethpage, sisters; Ruby Tipton Jack of Mt. Juliet, Peggy Brinley Bobby of Gallatin, Dot Gregory Charles of Indiana, Daphne Mace Lucky of Gallatin, numerous nieces and nephews, and mother-in-law, Lockie Bilbrey of Lafayette. Funeral service will be conducted at 2:30 P.M on Thursday, December 11, 2008 at the Gallatin Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Doyle Farris, and Bro. Burnice Wesbrooks officiating. Interment will follow in the Gallatin Memory Gardens at Crestview. Honorary pallbearers will be the Elders and Deacons of Hartsville Pike Church of Christ. Family and friends will serve as active pallbearers. Visitation will begin on Wednesday, Dec. 10 at 12 Noon – 9:00 P.M. and will resume on Thursday at 10:00 A.M. until service time.
