James H. Scarbro, age 67 of Castalian Springs, passed away July 10, 2019 at his home. Mr. Scarbro was born on March 14, 1952 in Charleston, WV to the late William Norman Scarbro and the late Orpha Marie Lyons Scarbro. James served his country as an Infantryman with the 25th Infantry Division in the Republic of Vietnam earning several medals including the bronze star from August 6, 1970 to August 5, 1971. He loved his country, his family, and was proud to have served the greatest nation this world has ever known. James was a man of few words but what he said was profound, direct, and to the point that few ever wondered what he believed. His family will miss him dearly and will forever have a hole in their heart created by the legacy of one of the finest Soldiers, Husband, Father, Brother, and Son people have had the pleasure of knowing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Kendra Ann Scarbro. He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Scarbro; children, Jimmy Scarbro (Nitza), Tammy Congiardo (Tony), Brandon King (Shelly), and Alicia King; grandchildren, Michael A. Perez, Keith N. Scarbro, William H. Scarbro, Christopher Blake Stinson, Amber Berry, Shelby Berry, and Bailey King; and siblings, Marilyn Buchanan, William Scarbro, Debbie Compton, Michael Scarbro, and Anita Doss. Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Crestview Funeral Home. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Crestview Memory Gardens. Visitation with the family will be on Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until time of service.
