James Reed

Mr. James Neal Reed, 72, of Portland, passed away on December 16, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 18, 1945 to the late James Clyde and Zelmer Lee Reed in Pontiac, MI.

James adored his family and loved spending time with them. He loved collecting things and telling stories. He served in the U.S Marines for many years and was a proud Marine, SEMPERFI. While serving, he earned a National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with one star, and a Rifle Expert Badge. He had a big heart of ASPCA and St. Jude Research Hospital. He was a very caring and kind hearted person. He was a loving husband, dad, and brother who will be truly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mitzi Kirk Reed; son James Thomas (Vikki) Reed; sister, Vivian Williams; and brother, Ron Reed.

A graveside service will be held 2pm, Monday, December 18, 2017 at Crestview Memory Gardens.
