James Lee "Jimmy" Lemmons, Sr., age 77 of Portland, passed away January 9, 2018 at his home. Jimmy was born on May 7, 1940 in Cedar Hill, TN to the late Joe Frank Lemmons and Pauline Priest Lemmons. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Lemmons; children, James Lee Lemmons, Jr. (Tonya), Joe Franklin Lemmons (Callie) and Mary Beth Barnes (Christopher); 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Jo Jones (Paul), Pat Preacher (Ted), Judy Pearson (Bennie) and Mackie Bielec (Jim); brothers, Jerry Arms (Cindy), Donnie Arms (Beverly) and Barry Arms. A Life Celebration Service will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. from the Chapel of Crestview Funeral Home with Pastor Todd Onink officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at 2:00 P.M. in Springfield Memorial Gardens in Springfield with John Kirkland, Jessie Kirkland, Cody Lemmons, Dallas Lemmons, Tyler Sturgill, Josh Beal, Mary Lemmons, Harlie Kirkland, Jordan Klumpp and Katie Lemmons serving as active pallbearers. Visitation with the family will be on Thursday from 4-8 P.M. and on Friday one hour prior to the service.
