James Covington

James Allen Covington, age 89 of Hendersonville, passed away April 12, 2011. Mr. Covington, a U.S. Naval veteran, served during World War II and was a member of Beech Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He retired from Dupont and also served as a Mason. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Clifton, Bill and Bobby Covington; sister, Marjorie Blue; and granddaughter, Susan Marie Covington. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Jessie Covington; sons, Michael Allen, James A. Debbie and John Paul Covington; and grandchildren, James Matthew Covington and Amanda Janelle Bayne. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 A.M., Thursday, April 14, 2011 from the Chapel of Hendersonville Funeral Home with Rev. Malcolm Patton officiating. Entombment will follow in the Hendersonville Memory Gardens Chapel of Memories Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M., Wednesday, April 13 and from 9 A.M. until 9:45 A.M., Thursday, at the Hendersonville Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Beech Cumberland Presbyterian Church Building Fund or to Willowbrook Hospice.
