James B. "Jim" Cook, age 85 of Gallatin, passed away March 4, 2019. Jim was born on June 21, 1933 in Dawson Springs, Kentucky to the late Elijah Cook and the late Nina A. Edwards. A veteran of the Unites States Army, Jim was retired from General Electric where he worked for many years; he was a member of Creekview Church of Christ in Gallatin, he enjoyed bowling and gardening, and last but certainly not least, Jim was an avid University of Kentucky Wildcats fan. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Kay Byars Cook; children, James Ray Cook, Sr. (Susan) and Mary A. VanLuke (Michael); grandsons, Steven VanLuke and James Ray Cook, Jr.; brother, Dale Cook (Jackie); and sister, Carole Sweeney (Fred). Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, March 6th at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Crestview Funeral Home with Bro. Stacey Durham officiating. Interment will follow in Crestview Memory Gardens. Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday from 11:00 A.M. until service time at 2:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Nashville Rescue Mission or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
