Jack Pierce, 93, of Gallatin, Tennessee, entered into peace on Saturday, February 10, 2024.
He was born August 10, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois, to his parents Carleton and Buena Pierce.
Jack loved the Lord and was a faithful servant of the church in many ways, including being a Gideon, facilitating Angel Tree through Prison Fellowship Ministry, cooking meals at church, singing in the choir, being a youth group leader, and a Deacon. He was enthusiastic about spreading the gospel, even up until his death with anyone that came into his hospital room. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Gallatin. Jack adored his family. As a young man, he briefly served in the United States Airforce. Following his military service, Jack had a career in data processing and computer programming, and even had his own computer business for many years. Outside of work, he had many hobbies. He enjoyed deer hunting, flying airplanes, camping, but most of all he enjoyed making a joyful noise to the Lord. Jack was also passionate about traveling with his family and experiencing God’s creation. Jack and his wife, Caryn, lived in Illinois, Wisconsin, and North Carolina, before moving to Tennessee in 2015. Jack leaves behind a legacy of 118 offspring and will be dearly missed.
Ernest Franklin Jack Pierce, is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Caryn Pierce; daughters, Jacqueline Pierce, Roxanne Dodson (John Dodson), Irene Lovelace, Glenda Pierce, Rhonda Chillus (Perry Chillus), Cheri Pierce, Cheryl Jones (Carlus Jones), Drenda Weldon, Lynette Pangburn; sister, Ruth Adelphia Pierce; 26 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; and 18 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Buena Elizabeth Vista (Tillman) Pierce, father, Carleton Arthur Pierce; sons, Carleton Pierce, Ernest Pierce, John Pierce; siblings, Robert Pierce, Thomas Pierce, William Pierce, and Anne Kneeland.
Visitation with the Pierce family will be from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M., on Tuesday, February 13, at Southside Baptist Church.
A memorial service in honor of Jack Pierce, will take place at 2:00 P.M., on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at Southside Baptist Church; located 1028 S. Water Ave., Gallatin, TN, 37066.
