Gregory Slusher, age 69 of Gallatin and a longtime resident of the Sideview Community, passed away May 22, 2019. Mr. Slusher was born on November 5, 1949 in Alexandria, Virginia to the late William Samuel Slusher, Sr. and the late Marguerite Gregory Slusher. Though he was born in Virginia, Greg was raised in McMinnville, TN where he graduated from McMinnville City High School. After high school, he received his undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee Knoxville where he was a member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. Greg worked in the insurance industry for over 30 years, most of that time being with Newman, Hayes, and Dixon in Hendersonville, TN. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah Taylor Slusher. He is survived by his sons, Lee Slusher (Laura) of Spartanburg, SC; Erik Slusher (Amanda) of Gallatin; and Sean Slusher of Richmond, VA; grandchildren, Caleb, Graysen, Sarah Grace, and Peyton Slusher; and brother, William S. "Skip" Slusher (Linda) of Staunton, VA. A Graveside Service will be held on Sunday, May 26th at 2:30 P.M. in Sumner Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be on Friday, May 24th from 4-8 P.M. and Sunday from 1-2 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cedar Crest Camp, 7900 Cedar Crest Camp Road, Lyles, TN 37098.
