Gladys Wade

WADE, GLADYS BARNES, age 77, Mrs. Wade passed away peacefully at her home in Nashville on October 25, 2010 surrounded by her family and with the assurance of eternal life with Jesus Christ. She was born May 12, 1933, the daughter of A.G. "Glen" Barnes and Nellie Scott Barnes. She married Emmett Clifton Wade, Jr., with whom she enjoyed over 40 years of marriage until his time of passing. She and Emmett lived in the northern part of Kentucky for close to 12 years and then moved back to Nashville.
She started as a Nurses Aid and worked her way up to Activities Therapist and was employed and retired from Bordeaux Hospital where she had worked for over 20 years. She has also been a member of Park Avenue Baptist Church since her return to Nashville over 30 years ago.She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two children, James Whallen Wade and Linda Lee Wade Clark, grandson, Lloyd Kirk Hubbard, six brothers and three sisters. She is survived by her son, Clifton Albert; daughter, Brenda Gail; sister, Mary Jean Meadows; seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. She was a wonderful lady and will be sorely missed.
The funeral service will be at 12:00 on Friday, October 29, 2010 at West Harpeth Funeral Home. Interment following at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation will be on Wednesday and Thursday from 11 am-8pm at WEST HARPETH FUNERAL HOME 6962 Charlotte Pk 615 352-9400
