Gene Sparrow- age 85 passed away August 5, 2015. He was born to the late Morton and Marie Sparrow on July 23, 1930 in Detroit, MI.
As a young man Gene proudly served in the Navy as a photographer. After his time in the service he worked in sales and retired from 3M Corporation after 30 years.
When remembering Gene the first thing that comes to mind was his passion for golf. He loved playing and also watching it on TV. When he was younger he was also an avid boater.
Gene was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Vern Sparrow.
He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Sally L. Sparrow; son, Craig (Coleen) Sparrow; daughters, Kim (Terry) Cameron and Carol (Jerry) Curry; step-son, Allen Himes; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brothers, Gerald and James Sparrow;
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The American Heart Association.
A celebration of Gene's life will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 12pm at Crestview Funeral Home. Visitation will be held prior to the service on Saturday from 10-12pm at Crestview Funeral Home 1623 Hwy 109 N Gallatin, TN 37066 (615) 452-1943 crestviewfh.com
