Gayle Poynor

Mrs. Gayle Costner Poynor, age 83, passed away on July 22, 2020. Gayle was the daughter of Shirley and J. Edwin Costner, Maryville, TN. She attended Maryville High School and the University of Tennessee. Later in life she enrolled at East TN Baptist School of Nursing where she received her RN. She worked at Baptist Hospital, Nashville, TN and retired from Sumner Regional Hospital in Gallatin and Cigna Health Springs. She had an unselfish love and concern for the feelings of others that made her a friend to many. She touched the lives of everyone with her kindness and generous spirit. She had an unforgettable smile and had a kind word for everyone and will be greatly missed.
Gayle is survived by her husband, Robert Allen Poynor, Jr.; daughter, Nancy Wicks (Bill) of Hendersonville, TN; son, Charles "Chuck" Blair (Sherry), sister, Janet Jenkins (Ronnie), and brother, Joe Costner (Jennie) all of Maryville, TN; and step daughter, Zina D. Harris-McClure of AZ. Nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
