Mrs. Florence Weeks, 79, of Gallatin, passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2017. She was born on July 23, 1938 in Adamsville, Alabama to the late Edward and Christine Jones. She is also preceded in death by sister, Patricia Westmoreland; and brother, Ted Jones.
Mrs. Weeks was a big family lady. Her three major loves in life were God, family, and babies; her face would light up every time she would hold a baby. She always made sure her family was together. When her children were growing up she always made sure they were in church every Sunday. She wanted her family to know who God was and how much he loved them.
She never wanted anyone to go hungry. If you came to her house she would always cook something for you and you could guarantee it would be the best thing you had ever tasted; especially her biscuits.
She loved listening to music; especially Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash. She also enjoyed spending time coloring, and was very good at it. A highlight of Mrs. Weeks' week every week would be Saturdays, her sister would call her every Saturday morning and they would spend hours on the phone laughing and cutting up like they were kids again.
Mrs. Weeks was a very loving and patient woman. She loved her family and friends with all her heart and would do anything for them. She will be truly missed.
She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Larry Weeks; her children, Billy (Melinda) Bailey, Terry (Teresa) Bailey, Richard Bailey, Joyce McKim, Barbara (James) Evans, Gary (Amanda) Bailey, Shawn (Mindy) Weeks, and Karen (Jeffrey) Mullins; 24 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 9 siblings, and numerous nieces and nephews.
