Age 77, of Hendersonville passed away on Nov. 15, 2006 after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her husband Maurice Norman. In 1963 the Normans bought 50 acres in Hendersonville and in 1967 purchased another 50 adjoining acres and in the mid 80's they began a vegetable and fruit tree farm selling fresh produce to the local Hendersonville residence. Also in the mid 80's they began field trips for local children celebrating the Fall Harvest. For over 25 years they owned and operated Pumpkin Junction U.S.A. where thousands of school children and families came to enjoy the Pumpkin Season. In 2006 the tornado hit Norman Farms and completely destroyed Pumpkin Junction. But the memories live on. She is survived by her son, Scott Norman Marianne; daughter, Susie Norman Don Sloan; seven grandchildren, one great grandchild and brother, Ken Parsons Evelyn. Visitation will be from 6pm until 8pm, Friday, Nov. 17, 2006 at Hendersonville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted 10am, Saturday, Nov. 18, 2006 at Hendersonville Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Glenn Weekly and Rev. Courtney Wilson officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 800 227-2345.
