Erbie Dee Edward Keen, age 81, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2025, in Portland, Tennessee. He was born on May 24, 1943, in Portland, to his parents, Hules and Alma Keen.

 Erbie lived a life marked by his gentle nature, generosity, and deep consideration for others.

As a young man he was married to Susan on February 17, 1967.

A proud veteran, Erbie retired after honorable service in both the Army and the National Guard. His commitment to his country and community was evident not only through his military service but also with his service as a fire fighter in South Carolina.

Erbie was known for being soft-spoken and thoughtful, always putting the needs of others before his own. His kindness and generosity touched the lives of many, and he leaves behind a legacy of warmth that will be remembered fondly by all who knew him. Erbie had a variety of hobbies and interests that brought him joy. He enjoyed collecting knives, military memorabilia, as well as ships and lighthouses. He was also an enthusiastic fan of NASCAR.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be dearly missed. 

Erbie Dee Edward Keen is survived by his wife of nearly 58 years, Susan Belle (Adams) Keen; son, Michael Dee Keen (Ophelia); grandchildren, Britny Clark (Jeffery), Craig Keen, Krista Branton (Preston), Brianna Keen-Dial (Michael), Abigail Keen; step-grandchildren, Adam Cooper, Nathan Cooper, Matthew Cooper, Nevaeh Dial; great-grandchildren, Ara Clark, Emma Clark, Chase Branton; daughter-in-law, Tara Keen; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Christine Keen; son, Nathan Keen; father, Hules Dee Keen; mother, Alma Marie (Parker) Keen; brother, Donald Lee Keen; and sister, Mary Frances Keen.

A visitation to honor Erbie's life will take place on January 20, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Crestview Memory Gardens, Funeral Home & Cremation located in Gallatin, TN, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. Following his cremation, Mr. Keen will be interred in Crestview Memory Gardens with the rendering of military funeral honors.
