HOWELL, Eloise Ragland age 91 passed away on November 26, 2010. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Harry Evon Howell; daughter, Jane Evon Baker; brothers, The Rev. Terry Ragland, Maurice Ragland, Ed Ragland, Thomas Ragland; sister, Anna Laura Bratcher. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Dr. Jerry Gilpin of Nashville, TN; grandson, Dr. David Gilpin Meredith Waite of Cleveland, OH; granddaughter, Kate Gilpin of Nashville, TN; grandson, Austin Gilpin of Nashville, TN; brothers, Kenneth Ragland and Dr. John Ragland of Lexington, KY; sister, Mary Sue Saint of Silver Springs, MD. Mow, as she was called by those who loved her, was a faithful member of both the Bellevue United Methodist Church in Nashville, TN and First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant, MI. She enjoyed many years of dedicated service to United Methodist Women who awarded her the Special Mission Recognition Award for her work with Red Bird Mission. She was an avid writer, published author, and proud alumna of the University of Kentucky, Masters of Education. Visitation will be Sunday at Bellevue United Methodist Church from 1-2:30 with service to immediately follow, 7501 Old Harding Pike, Nashville, TN 37221. Burial will be held Monday, Nov. 29th, at 11:30 am at Sunnyside cemetery in Beaver Dam, KY. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Bellevue United Methodist Church Flood Relief Fund or Westminster Presbyterian Disaster Assistance.
