Ellen Johns

JOHNS, Ellen Rebecca Garretty- age 87 of Hendersonville, TN passed away August 29, 2012. She was born in McComb Mississippi, later moving to San Diego, and then to Tennessee. Mrs. Johns resided at the Terrace at Bluegrass for many years and was loved and cared for by the most wonderful group of caregivers anyone could ask for, giving a family peace of mind that their loved one is in good hands when we cannot be there. She loved the outdoors and family get-togethers, as long as she did not have to cook. An accomplished athlete, tennis player, dancer and champion golfer, she always kept up with the PGA Golf Tournaments, knowing some of the professional golfers first hand. She will be remembered as a very fashionable lady, always properly accessorizing with gloves, shoes, hat and jewelry. Mrs. Johns is survived by her daughter, Donna K. Kieser; sisters, Mildred Heard and Dorothy Cruell; grandchildren, Eric Walter Kieser and Rebecca Ann Brassfield; six great-grandchildren, Kayla Brassfield, Marissa Brassfield, Miranda Brassfield, Nicholas Kieser, Jacob Kieser, and Benjamin Kieser. The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, September 4th, from 5-7 p.m. at Hendersonville Funeral Home 353 Johnny Cash Pky. Hendersonville, TN, with a Life Celebration at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel.
