Elizabeth Drake

DRAKE, Elizabeth Caroline "Aunt Betty" born September 6, 1911 in Guntersville, Alabama. Died October 8, 2009. Preceded in death by parents, William G. Drake and Sallie Celia Drake; sister, Vivian Drake; brothers, Lois, William, Thomas and Robert Drake. During World War II she worked in Washington DC making maps for the Army Air Corps. Graduated from the College of the Ozarks with a degree in education and taught elementary school in Texas. She loved to travel, before interstates and car air conditioning she traveled from Texas to California to Alaska. Survived by nieces and nephews, Laura Bishop Larry, Melanie Drake Wallace Gene, David Drake Sally, William Drake Kathy, Tom Drake, Jr. Ruth Ann; 8 great nieces and nephews; 7 great great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home.
