Earl Thomas Brummett "Tommy", age 85 of Bethpage passed away April 13, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. Tommy was born on December 1, 1932 to the late Tom and Missy Brummett. He worked for Texas Boot Company and later General Electric (Bosch) where he retired from in 1997. He was a farmer raising tobacco and hay, and raising gardens; most importantly he was a Missionary Baptist Preacher. His faith was strong and his love for God, his family and friends was great. Tommy was a wonderful husband, father, brother, son, and friend. He loved everyone and was loved by many; he will be greatly missed by all. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Pete and Draper Brummett, and sisters, Martha Clark and Maggie Lee. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Dorothy Perry Brummett; children, Ricky Brummett (Adeline) of Westmoreland, Vicky "Sissy" Sanders (Clyde) of Bethpage, Kathy Stephens (Ricky) of Bethpage, Tommy "Doodle" Brummett (Lynn) of Bethpage, and Michelle Hand (Jeremy "Dawg") of Westmoreland; 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; sister, Ola Simpson; several nieces, nephews and extended family members. A Life Celebration service honoring Tommy will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. from the Chapel of Crestview Funeral Home with Bro. W.T. Spears and Bro. Leon Graves officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Crestview Memory Gardens with Derrick Carter, Shawn Carter, Jason Stephens, Travis Stephens, Jonathan Brummett, and Luther Brummett serving as active pallbearers. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org.
