SAWYER, Sr. Dorris Glenn Age 80. He was a member of Pegram United Methodist Church from age 16. He served the church in many capacities, and on several committees during his membership there. He loved the church and was always there unless he was sick or out of town. He was a 50 year member of Belleview Masonic Lodge No. 716, having just received the certificate a couple of weeks ago. He also served in Cheatham County Court, as a Commissioner for 12 years and was appointed to the Cheatham County Election Commission for several years. He made many friends during the time he served in these positions. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter & Beulah Sawyer in 1974 and 1979 respectively, and by a son, Dorris Glenn Sawyer, Jr. in 1992. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dorothy "Dot" Parnell Sawyer; daughter, Melissa McWright and a son-in-law, Jimmy McWright; granddaughter, Wendy Paszek and her husband, Mike Paszek; 3 great-grandchildren, Michael, Makenna and Macey Paszek. Funeral services will be 2 pm Wednesday at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. Friends and relatives will serve as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Ford Happy Couples. Visitation will be 1-8pm Tuesday and 12-2 pm on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to Pegram United Methodist Church Building Fund.
