Bilyeu, Dorothy Minton—Age 77 passed away Tuesday March 29th, 2011 at Williamson Medical Center. Dorothy was born in Nashville, Tn. to Joseph Lee and Jewel Farmer Minton on March 26th, 1934. She was preceded in death by her husband Fred Glen Bilyeu , her daughter Karen Bilyeu Pratt and her brother Charles Fiske Minton. She is survived by her daughters Victoria Bilyeu, Terri Nelson David and Beth Bilyeu, son-in-law Jerry Pratt, grandchildren Bryan Nelson, Josh Nelson, Micah Pratt and Mitchell Pratt, sister Elizabeth Minton Bell Caleb, nieces Cathleen Bell Moore Jeff and Allison Minton Cobb Jeff and four great nieces. Dorothy was a long time member of Franklin First Presbyterian Church. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and sister. Dorothy graduated from West End High School in Nashville, TN and Baptist School of Nursing. After graduation she met and married Fred Bilyeu of Cookeville, TN. She was a full time devoted mother to her daughters and referred to her car as her second home as she shuttled the girls to dance, piano, and tennis lessons and then to basketball, cheerleading practice and swim team every summer. Dorothy was an extraordinary woman who loved God and all of God's creatures. Dorothy's favorite Bible verse was 1 Corinthians 13:13 "and these three remain Faith, Hope and Love and the greatest of these is Love." She lived by this tenet all the days of her life. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. Visitation with the family will be 4-8 pm Friday at Harpeth Hill Funeral Home. Memorial service will be held at Franklin First Presbyterian Church on Saturday, April 2 at 4:00 pm. There will be a private family burial.
