Donald Kinney

Donald Wayne Kinney, age 85 of Gallatin passed away February 14, 2018. Mr. Kinney was born on October 17, 1932 in Altus, Oklahoma to the late Jesse and Della Kinney. Don started preaching at age 14 and was a gospel preacher for over 50 years. He served churches in Texas, Kansas, Louisiana, Nebraska, Indiana and his native Oklahoma. Don was a true bible scholar; he loved studying the Greek language and the history behind the words. Since moving to Tennessee in 2004, Don and his wife, Ilene have been members of the Nashville Road Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Kinney, and his grandson, Kyle Kinney. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ilene Kinney; children: Wayne Kinney (Lois), Chris Kinney (Terri) and Karen Hutson (David); grandchildren: Rachel Kinney, Mike Kinney (Liz), John Kinney (Morgan), Lauren Mikosz (Alex), Grant Kinney, and Ben Hutson; great-grandchildren: Gavin Kinney, Kamden Kinney, and Jack Kinney. A Life Celebration Service honoring Don will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 11:30 A.M. at the Nashville Road Church of Christ with Charles Williams officiating. Visitation with the family will be on Saturday at the church building from 10:30 A.M. until the time of service.
