Donald E. Ferguson, age 80, of Gallatin, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023.

He was born on August 20, 1942, in Detroit, Michigan, to his parents Jack and Rosie Ferguson.

Don began his military service at 17 years old, when he was drafted for the Vietnam War. In his career of 28 years, Don served two tours in Vietnam, three tours in Germany, and one tour in Korea. He retired as a Command Sergeant Major. He was a proud Veteran, and a member of the American Legion, and the Vietnam Vets of America. Following his military career, Don worked as a maintenance supervisor, at Rich Products, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, for 20 years. Outside of work, Don was a Husband, a father, and grandfather. He Enjoyed fishing, hunting, and golf. He will be remembered as a hardworking man, who was always serving.

Donald Eaan Ferguson is survived by his wife of 53 years, Evelyn (Aronen) Ferguson; daughters, Theresa Patchen (David), and Rebecca Pearson (Chad); son, Donald Ferguson (Melissa); grandchildren, Allison Heatherly (Dennis), Elizabeth Heatherly (Anthony), Kelsey Heatherly, Maggie Pearson, Grace Patchen, Jake Patchen, and Taelor Ferguson, Icelynn Ferguson (Camden), Zailey Ferguson (Josh), Ezekiel Hipshire (Shi), and Enessa Hipshire; brother, John William Ferguson Jr; sisters, Mary Jane Steward (Richard), and Barbara Ann Cox (Larry); 4 great grandchildren, and expecting 3 more.

He was preceded in death by his father, John W. Ferguson Sr. “Jack”; mother, Rosie Lee (Carter) Ferguson; nephews, John Ferguson lll, Craig Ferguson, and Eric Croteau; sister-in-law, Betty Ferguson; father-in-law, Bill Aronen; and mother-in-law, Pearl Aronen.

Visitation will be held between 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 24.

A memorial service will take place on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 3:00 P.M., from the Chapel of Crestview Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, the Ferguson Family, kindly request that memorial donations be made to the Vietnam Vets of America, specifically contributing to the Children’s Christmas Fund.
